Where to begin...


A while ago I had a Substack for newsletters, but after the neo-Nazis took over I didn't want to use the platform anymore. I've been tossing up whether or not to start a new newsletter, let it go entirely, or find another route.


To be honest, I haven't been convinced that a newsletter does what it sets out to achieve these days, given how much we communicate in other ways, and on other channels. However, I do feel the need to have some kind of blog to keep people updated on what is happening with Slashic Horror, as well as with me as an individual.


So, I'll keep this one short, but I aim to post a blog every couple of weeks with publishing updates and news.


For now, a quick publishing update:

Recent Releases

I aim to release a title every second month, and as you might have noticed, they typically release on the 15th of the relevant month.


Deadbeat released July 15th, and is the first in the choose-your-own-adventure series, Extremities. So far, there are 5 releases planned, each by a different author.


Maxim Volk sets the tone of the series with Deadbeat, a wickedly humorous and equally gory queer feast with cannibals, zombies, cults, and much more.


I'm so proud to be able to bring titles like this to the world; not only are they incredibly fun, but in a time where certain nation's politics are denying human rights to queer people, content like this is more and more important.


Deadbeat is available everywhere, but why not pick it up from the Slashic Horror store?


The other recent release was the final book in Dean Cade's SUMMER 1973 trilogy, Shallow Graves.


Dean's trilogy is a dark coming-of-age horror-thriller with true crime origins. Without glorifying the very real and very gratuitous murders known as the Houston Mass Murders, SUMMER 1973 is a heartbreaking tale of gay lovers, Lane and James.


I don't want to spoil anything, but I will say Dean Cade has delivered a powerful, moving, and authentic trilogy of novellas.


The entire trilogy is available as a bundle, or individually, from the Slashic store, or anywhere else.

At the moment, there are two titles for preorder.



This book is entry #2 in the Extremities series and takes you through the retro video game-inspired world of The Light-House.


If you haven't ready anything by TT Madden, give me a moment to pick my jaw up from the floor. TT's work is, in a word, magnificent.


From the other titles published through Slashic, The Shapes of Our Screams and The Familialists, to other titles such as the award-winning Gorman's House, TT is set to dominate queer horror, but also horror in general. Why not get acquainted with their work now?


The second title for preorder is Extremities #3, YOU SEE IT TOO by AJ Malachite.


Set in a bayou, you are faced with supernatural entities and death around every corner. This entry into the series is eerie, deadly, and queer as fuck.


It's the perfect tone for what Slashic wants to deliver to readers. AJ is an incredibly talented author, too, so watch out for more from them in the future!

Other News


Submissions recently closed for general submissions and I am working through the remaining manuscripts. Keep in mind that I do this all on my own, so it does take time to do things properly. I have 13 left as of today, so hopefully I can get through them in the next few weeks.


I really appreciate everyone's patience; I know it's hard to wait and wait and wait, but believe me, I am working on it.
